1,454 men tested so far this year
SPSA has arranged 6 testing events this year, with 4 more to come.
Sadly, our photos cannot convey to you the warm, kindly and calm atmosphere that our wonderful phlebotomists bring with them to each event. All is relaxed and friendly with most men leaving with a quiet smile on their faces.
On 18th April, 232 men were tested at Yeovil Football Club, 22 of whom were advised to seek further medical help. Our thanks to Yeovil Lions for help on the day and for funding.
This is the second event we have undertaken with Yeovil Lions Club, the first was in 2025.
298 men were tested in the Masonic Hall in Frome on 16th May with Frome Lions providing stewarding and help with funding. Thank you to the Lions and to Frome
Masons for providing the hall free of charge. 34 men went on to seek further medical help.
We have worked with Frome Lions before to provide testing events in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
On 6th June a testing event was held at Hangstones Pavilion, Yatton. We thank Yeo Valley Lions, our stewards on the day and for their help with funding. Of the 212 men tested, 26 were advised to contact their GPs.
Again, we have worked with Yeo Valley Lions before, for an event in 2025.
As always, we are very grateful for support from Lions Clubs, other people and organisations who enable us to hold events and provide the number of tests that we do.
